On the back of the 10 day Tamworth Country Music Festival, the Golden Guitar Awards took place to celebrate the successes of country artists in 2022 and was hosted by Travis Collins. After receiving 17 nominations across 10 different categories, ABC Music is thrilled to congratulate Golden Guitar Award winners Amber Lawrence and Andrew Swift.
Amber Lawrence wins Best Female Artist
Celebrating her 20th Festival at Tamworth, Amber Lawrence took home the award for Best Female artist following the release of her ARIA #1 album, ‘Living For The Highlights’. With six Golden Guitar Awards to her name, Amber was also celebrated for her career achievements by being inducted into the Tamworth Galaxy of Stars.

Andrew Swift Wins Best Male Artist
Melbourne singer-songwriter Andrew Swift pulled off the biggest shock of the 51st Golden Guitar Awards by being named best male artist for the first time in his career. This is his third Golden Guitar Award and the first in this category!
Following a string of impactful singles across the last 12 months including the undeniably catchy airplay favourites Young Lovers and The Good Old Days, Swift just released his brand new single ‘You and Me and A Bottle of Whiskey’ which was first performed for the first time at the Tamworth Country music Festival. The song is Swift’s first collaboration with his girlfriend Simone Sordello.
